Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Dun-Gen’s website, applications, and related tabletop role-playing game tools and services (“Dun-Gen” or the “Service”).

By accessing or using Dun-Gen, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use Dun-Gen. If the law where you live requires a higher minimum age, that higher age applies. You are responsible for safeguarding access to your account and for activity performed through it.

You must provide accurate account information and may not impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with an organization.

2. Campaign content and ownership

You retain ownership of campaign notes, artwork, prompts, and other content you provide to Dun-Gen (“Your Content”). You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights needed to use, upload, process, print, or share Your Content.

You grant Dun-Gen a limited license to process Your Content only as needed to provide features you choose to use. Local and user-owned cloud-storage features are described in our Privacy Policy.

Dun-Gen does not grant you rights to third-party game rules, settings, artwork, trademarks, or other materials. Your use of those materials remains subject to their applicable licenses and laws.

3. Acceptable use

You may not use Dun-Gen to:

• Violate applicable law or another person’s rights.
• Upload or distribute content you do not have permission to use.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
• Disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or abuse the hosted Service, except where applicable law expressly permits that activity.
• Use automated means to evade rate limits, credit requirements, or security controls.

4. AI-assisted features

AI-assisted features may produce incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable material. You are responsible for reviewing generated content before relying on, publishing, or printing it. Generated content is not legal, medical, financial, or professional advice.

AI-assisted features are optional. By choosing to use one, you direct and authorize Dun-Gen to process the prompt, instructions, campaign material, and related content needed to fulfill your request through one or more third-party AI service providers.

“AI service providers” may include providers of language or multimodal models, inference, routing, embeddings, search, optical character recognition, transcription, moderation, and related services. Dun-Gen may select, combine, route between, add, replace, or stop using any AI service provider, model, or supporting technology at our discretion, including to improve quality, reliability, availability, development speed, or cost.

You have no contractual right to require use of, or avoidance of, a particular AI service provider or model. Except where applicable law requires otherwise, Dun-Gen is not obligated to identify its current providers, disclose backend routing, or give advance notice of a provider or model change. If you do not agree to provider-independent processing, do not use AI-assisted features; the non-AI portions of Dun-Gen remain available subject to these Terms.

You must not submit content to an AI feature unless you have the right to process it in that way. Our handling of personal information, including information sent to service providers, remains governed by our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

5. Credits, payments, and promotions

Some hosted or AI-assisted features may require credits. Prices, estimated costs, and applicable limits are presented before use. Promotional credits may expire, may be limited to particular features, and have no cash value unless required by law.

Except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise, completed credit usage is non-refundable.

6. Local data, exports, and cloud sync

Dun-Gen is designed to keep its core campaign library locally in your browser. You are responsible for maintaining exports or backups that are appropriate for you.

If you enable optional cloud sync, campaign data is sent directly to the connected storage provider under that provider’s terms. Removing Dun-Gen, clearing browser data, disconnecting an account, or changing a provider configuration can affect access to stored data.

7. Service availability and changes

Dun-Gen may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. Beta features may change substantially and may contain errors. We may establish reasonable usage or technical limits to protect the Service.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Dun-Gen at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to hosted features when reasonably necessary to address a violation of these Terms, security risk, unlawful use, or harm to the Service or others.

9. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, Dun-Gen is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Dun-Gen and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Dun-Gen changes. We will post revised Terms on this page and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when required.
